The Save Our Schools Dolls Get Front Row Seats at the Parade

In the summer of 2011, members of the Save Our Schools March and National Call to Action brought sixty large stuffed dolls, made by students and teachers from around the country and placed in boxes, to the steps of the US Department of Education. The purpose was to send Secretary of Education Arne Duncan a message: “We are tired of being boxed in” by the current regime of high stakes testing and failed educational policies. Even Secretary Duncan himself received a doll personally. See http://http://catonsville.patch.com/posts/article/blogs.edweek.org/edwee... blogs.edweek.org/edweek/campaign-k-12/2011/07/duncan_meets_with_school_march.html for more on that original story.

Now, in 2013 the dolls are going on the road, visiting sites all over the country. First stop-: Catonsville Maryland, where they’re getting a front row seat for the Catonsville July 4th Parade.
