Play Ball! Charlestown Residents to Compete in Regional Softball Tournament

Charlestown retirement community residents will compete Wednesday, June 5, at Fairfield Athletic and Aquatics Center Field in Laurel, MD, in Erickson Living’s Annual Resident Softball Tournament. The games begin at noon.

Two teams from the Baltimore area -- Charlestown in Catonsville and Oak Crest in Parkville -- will compete against two teams from the Washington, D.C.,  metro area -- Riderwood in Silver Spring and Greenspring in Springfield, VA.

Charlestown residents have been practicing for the tournament during the past month on their campus’ baseball field. Rumor has it their pitcher has a slider that might even make Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis swing and miss.
