Planning is under way for a 2013 Memorial Day event that will be an exhibition of over 500 full-size American flags known as the Charlestown Field of Honor Veterans Tribute in Catonsville.
The Charlestown Field of Honor will be open to the public May 24-27, with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. Sat., May 25. Each flag displayed will be sponsored by area businesses and residents for $35 per flag.
Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Charlestown Benevolent Care Fund. Hubbard Funeral Home, Inc. will present the event and Charlestown will host the three-day event.
Volunteers from Charlestown and the greater Catonsville community can join various committees such as fundraising, programs, flag assembly and field setup. To sign up and volunteer or to get additional information about the exhibition, please call 410-242-3300.
