Beltway Ramp at Frederick Road to Close Temporarily

The outer loop ramp from the Interstate 695 to Frederick Road will be closed for one month.

A key next phase in the replacement of the Frederick Road bridge over Interstate 695 this weekend, as a ramp to the road will close for a month.

Starting on Sunday night at 9 p.m., the ramp that takes drivers from the outer loop of the Baltimore Beltway to Frederick Road will close for roughly a month.

The detour will be the following: drivers will exit instead at Wilkens Avenue and make a right onto Wilkens Avenue. After traveling under the Beltway, they make a left onto Kenwood Avenue and then merge onto the Beltway at the inner loop. Drivers will then exit at Frederick Road from the inner loop and will be able to turn east or west from the traffic light.

The ramp will re-open in mid-October if construction is not delayed due to weather.

During this time, construction crews will rebuild the end of the ramp connection to Frederick Road and construct the transition from the new bridge to Frederick Road. Crews will also add new curbs, gutters and sidewalks on westbound Frederick Road by the bridge.
