Van Jones, a clean energy and human rights pioneer, will be coming to CCBC in February as a guest lecturer for the President's Distinguished African-American Lecture Series.
Jones will lecture at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 21 at CCBC Catonsville's Q Theatre.
His talk will be based on his 2009 bestseller The Green-Collar Economy: How One Solution Can Solve our Two Biggest Problems.
TIME magazine picked Jones as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2009. In addition, Rolling Stone magazine named him as one of "12 Leaders Who Get Things Done. Ebony magazine had him on its "Power 150" list of influential African-Americans.
He also served as the green jobs advisor at the White House four years ago, and the aforementioned book was a New York Times bestseller.
This event is both free and open to the public. Tickets are needed for entry, and Jones will talking with those who are there afterwards in the Q Lounge.
Call the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-2787 for information.
What would the Tea Baggers do without their Boogeymen?
Now, stand back ladies and gentlemen and lets see what comprehensive, mind boggling response we get from El Stevo...Uh Oh,...I promised I would stick to the given "thread name" ..sorry Steve...I will behave, honest!! :-)
Asking delusional people for help is just not in my future. Lets see..... 9/11 was a government plot.........check President Obama was born in Kenya.........check President Obama is a Muslim.......check President Obama never went to Harvard Law School.....check President Obama never had a job ........check Tea Bagger are the only thing standing between "Freemen" and Tyranny....check Van Morris is a Commie......check Yep, these people are delusional.
How was NO and the game Steve? How was the French Quarter? You said you were going.
The problem I have with Van Jones is - in this economy, I believe CCBC should have an "all hands on deck to train students for jobs" mentality. Mr. Jones has done a great job in marketing Mr. Jones. We need speakers who have prospered in business, or their vocation and as a result, have lifted others with them. The policies of Van Jones do not do that. He is not a scientist, and talks very often of dividing the country. His nastiness to those who oppose him are beneath the dignity of CCBC and the students who come to CCBC in hopes of moving forward in life. We have double the unemployment rate for blacks than whites nationwide. The policies of division practiced by Van Jones and his crew are simply not the policies of employers, who need the best person ready to join and be part of a team and be a sponge for the vocation they choose. Van Jones will leave the talk with a few more books sold to the suckers who buy the books, his far left street cred increased, and a few more dollars able to fund the Van Jones lifestyle. The poor saps who purchased his books will be left holding the bag - the permanent underclass established by Mr. Jones and crew.
See Steve, we would and do defend your rights to speak freely, some even consider what you do is actually speaking. The teabaggers will have your back if you have theirs. But you have shown you don't have anyone's back but yours. You've shown your bigotry towards everyone from $12 an hour carpenters who built the home you live in to family men and women who are productive members of society raising families and paying taxes who just happen to believe the rights we were ordained with did not come from government but from God, to those who are members of the Oath Keepers, to anyone who is, how do I put this,...... not you.
(It's the DUNCE CAP Steve)....you can't seem to escape it...
Why is everyone but you delusional? Have a seat Steve, a cookie. Reflect on who is delusional.
Of course it does. It offers an alternative quality education to high priced mostly unaffordable and often unrewarding college education.
That is different form this how? "If it ever comes to a point in my life where I need an n-word's help it's over. " How is it any different? How is it any less disgusting and revolting?
You are a despicable bigoted ignorant human. No different than the skinheads who hold different races and classes on different levels. Would you ask Steve if the guy you may have a chance of saving his life of he is a conservative delusional racist teabagging gun nutter?
Someone like say....Mitt Romney? which Jones made out to be the devil and worse than Hitler by killing the wives of his workers and screwing all his employees. Or someone like.....hmmmm a successful business man, Herman Cain. Oh no wait, he was the next in line to those like Steve for the Devil position. Cain was as Frank called him, The Token. Get a conservative on campus and what happens? Protests and pies in faces and violence and threats and then the speaker gets pulled. What did you suggest again RMI?
This is where that idiocy came from.
Of course they do. His real history not the smear campaign being run by the likes of Faux News and Glen Beck.
