Regarding the Sublime: Knudsen & Walton, Guest Artist Lecture
After a reception in the art gallery, with food and drink, come listen to a guest lecture and Q&A by the two painters and professors Stephen
Knudsen and Roger Mark Walton. They will discuss their own work as well as the concept and role of beauty in contemporary work.
When not teaching at the Savannah College of Art and Design or painting his own work, Stephen Knudsen contributes to multiple publications, including the Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, New York Art Magazine, SECAC Review Journal, and ARTPULSE Magazine. He is now a contributing editor to ARTPULSE Magazine.
Roger Mark Walton has been teaching at the Savannah School of art and design since 2000 and is a recipient of the SCAD Presidential Fellowship. He has lectured in various places, including docent lecture tours at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City and the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, Ohio.
This
guest artist lecture is in conjunction with the exhibition of the same title
(August 28-October 5) and reception that same evening from 6 to 8 pm. Sponsored
in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, and brought to you by the
Institute of Art, Design and Interactive Media.
