Come to the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park for free nature programs this summer!

Leaf
Presses
Find out what's happening in Catonsvillewith free, real-time updates from Patch.
Discuss the
parts of a tree with the Naturalists and play interactive games to
help remember the different parts. Then, take a short hike to look at
different types of trees and collect leaf so each person can make a
leaf press!

Geology
Rocks!
Learn about
different types of rocks and minerals and get some hands on
experience! Find out what rocks are commonly found in Oella and take
a hike to try and find them!

Biodiversity
What is
biodiversity? How do plants and animals use biodiversity to survive?
Join the Naturalists to find out and see some live examples! Play a
game to learn more about biodiversity and then take a walk to see
some in the park.

August 20:
Shad Scents
Discover
what shad are and why the sense of smell is so important to their
reproduction. Pretend to be shad and play a game to try to smell your
way back to your spawning ground
