Blog: Where Can You Find Art in Catonsville?

Art exhibits around Catonsville and Beyond.

I hope the citizens of Catonsville get a chance to support our local artists by visiting the businesses that promote "Create in 21228", supported by the Catonsville Arts Guild

At Narcissus Hair Salon, 28 Bloomsbury Ave, the artwork of Ian Herrick's portrait drawings are on display. You can have Ian create a drawing of a family member or the whole family as a unique one-of-kind gift for a special loved one.

Sam's Bagels, 730 Frederick Road, has the artwork of Edward Williams, check out local scenes from Ellicott City and Miami to pique the interests of your house guests.

Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital, 816 Frederick Road, is now exhibiting the artwork of Shay Strong. The zany, unexpected compositions create artistic humor that can liven up the decor of any room.

Catonsville Chamber of Commerce, 924 Frederick Road, has a display of local artist Mary Miller on its easel. A series of a figurative study printed on paper.

UMBC is exhibiting two visual arts show. The MFA Digital Arts Thesisshow a variety of digital artwork, through Feb. 18 in the Arts building.  In the Kuhn Library Gallery is the exhibit of “Passage on the Underground Railroad. Artist Stephen Mark created a digital montage of images about these freedom seekers. Through March 22.

Charlestown Retirement Fireside Gallery exhibits a show of their talented residential artists. The theme is “Matters of the Heart. The artwork is varied from pencil, watercolor,acrylic and oil. Most of the artwork is for sale.

The American Visionary Art Museum is always a family favorite to peak the wonder and curiosity of children is the artwork of self taught artists. Currently on exhibit is the “All Things Round: Galaxies, Eyeballs and Karma”. Colorful, playful and creative, through Sept. 2.
