Wilkens Precinct Crime: Burglar Steals Purse While Woman Sleeps

The following information was provided by the Baltimore County Police Department's Wilkens Precinct which covers Catonsville and Arbutus. Charges do not indicate convictions.

While a resident slept with only her screen door locked, a burglar came into her home and stole her purse.

Between 9 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, a burglar came in to the home in the unit block of Somerset Road in Catonsville, according to a report by Baltimore County police.

Her purse, credit card, debit card and driver's license were stolen.

The back door's screen door was locked, but the back door itself was "wide open," the report states.

Catonsville

Westshire Road. 300 block. Between 12:01 a.m. and 2 a.m. Sunday. A burglar came in through the unlocked front door and stole a purse off the living room table. A wallet and cash were in the purse.

McIntosh Court. Unit block. Between 9 a.m. May 28 and 4:11 p.m. June 11. A military-style armor vest carrier and tools were stolen from a locked storage closet. There was no forced entry.

Halethorpe

2nd Avenue. 300 block. Between 11:08 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. June 10. Burglars stole two laptop computers, an iPhone, iPad mini and two Xbox video gaming systems from a home. There were no signs of forced entry, and it's possible someone got in with lost keys.

Baltimore Street. 3900 block. Between 4 p.m. June 7 and 7 a.m. June 10. A burglar stole an air conditioning unit from they backyard of a home. The yard is not fenced.

Virginia Avenue. 2700 block. Between 4:30 p.m. and 8:26 p.m. June 12. A burglar "possibly" entered through a window and stole an iPod.

Twin Circle Way. Unit block. Between 6 p.m. June 13 and 9:30 a.m. June 15. A burglar came in through an enclosed patio and stole a grill and other patio equipment.

McDowell Lane. 3700 block. Between sometime in January and 3:30 p.m. June 13. A burglar cut a shed lock and stole a video gaming system and shoes.

Washington Boulevard. 3903. Between 3:15 a.m. June 3 and June 14. A burglar cut a hole in a fence at the business Plastech, and removed power tools from vehicles on the lot.

Twin Circle Way. 4200 block. Between 8 p.m. June 12 and 10:40 a.m. June 13. A burglar forced open a back door and stole three TVs a video gaming system and clothes. The back door was damaged.

Brady Avenue. 1943 block. Between 6 p.m. June 12 and 6:20 a.m. June 13. A burglar cut a hole in the fence on Baltimore County property and tried to get into a vehicle. The burglar wasn't successful.

Hollins Ferry Road. 4555. Between 5 p.m. June 7 and 12:30 p.m. June 12. A burglar came onto a lot at Cowan Systems and removed 13 batteries from trucks.

Braeside Road. 600 block. Between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. June 9. Suspects forced a victim to perform a sexual act. The report did not include information on the victim or suspects.
