Catonsville Storm Updates: North Rolling Road Cleared

Storm clean-up still continues and many residents still do not have power.

While many Catonsville residents have had their power restored, between 1-2,000 residents are still without power on Wednesday, according BGE's website.

On Tuesday night, BGE crews finished working at the intersection of North Rolling Road and Edmondson Avenue, where wires were down. Just up north of the intersection at Rockwell Avenue and North Rolling Road, a large tree had fallen and blocked the intersection since Friday.

According a resident who lives on the block, BGE crews said because of the size of the tree that fell, roughly 12 poles needed to be re-wired. Crews came from as far away as New Brunswick, Canada to work in Catonsville.

Also on Tuesday Patch was told by Baltimore County Public Works officials that did not go into the Patapsco River after a power outage at the Frederick Road pumping station.

While there was a power outage, Public Works Spokesman David Fidler said that a newly-installed overflow basin caught the sewage before it went into the river. Maintenance crews investigating the incident learned this later, Fidler said.
