The Fish are Biting at Charlestown

CATONSVILLE, MD (June 3, 2014) -- Eight residents of the continuing care neighborhood at Charlestown retirement community today spent four hours fishing on the campus' Lake Charles. They caught bass and blue gill.

Resident Shirley Drell is pictured catching bass. Sharing in her delight are (l) Denise Puckett, assistant program manager, and resident Jean Tompkins.

Drell's husband taught her how to fish years ago when they sat together with their fishing rods on the gentle slope of a reservoir in Howard County, MD.

The fishing excursion is among a series of ongoing resident activities that include a drum circle and wine and cheese parities with jazz.

The Charlestown Harmonizers perform regularly. Actors from a local Dinner Theater also perform.
