Charlestown Woodworkers Donate 100 "Vintage" Toys to Toys for Tots

Children of all ages viewed a December 12 exhibit of 100 “vintage” wooden toys -- several pull toys of trains, fish that wiggle when pulled, simple wood puzzles, piggy banks, shape fit toys, stack block type toys, wood road graders, old time cars and pick-ups, and cradles with hand sewn dolls – made by Charlestown retirement community’s woodworkers.

Immediately following this exhibit, the toys were given to underprivileged children via the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots.

The Charlestown woodworkers have been making the toys in their retirement community’s woodshop ever since this past April.

Pictured among the toys are (left -right) Charlestown woodworker Jim Mullis, Corporal Michael Roberts, USMC, and Clara Parker, Charlestown's Executive Director.
