Charlestown Physical Therapist Heidi Smith Raises $2,700 for Wounded Warriors

Heidi Smith, MSPT, a physical therapist for Charlestown retirement community, raised more than  $2,700 for the Scott Rigsby Foundation and Wounded Warriors by competing this past weekend  in the intermedix IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta Half Ironman triathlon presented by Georgia National Guard.

Smith did the 1.5-mile swim in 33:38 and was 738 out of 1,198 women.  She did the 56-mile bicycle part of the event  in 2:53:47 and was 253 out of 1,198 women.  And her 13.1-mile run in 2:34:38 was 444 out of 1,198 women.  Her overall time was 6:16:04.

“The Scott Rigsby Foundation couldn’t be a better organization for me to partner with,” said Smith, an Overlea resident who grew up overseas in Germany as a ‘brat’ on Army and Air Force bases. “The military is near and dear to my heart.  It couldn’t be more perfect and it also ties thematically to my work at Charlestown.”
