Love Your Catonsville Farmers Market? Then Cast Your Vote

American Farmland Trust is sponsoring a national contest.

If you are a loyal customer at either of Catonsville's farmers markets, you may want to participate in this national contest.

The American Farmland Trust is sponsoring a national contest to raise awareness and support for farmers and farmers markets across the country. Between now and September 3, anyone can go to the organization's website and write why they love going to their local famers market.

According to the contest rules, people can vote for as many participating farmers markets as they choose, but can only vote for each market once.

This year's contest has been expanded to include all 7,175 markets that are listed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s national farmers market directory.  As part of the contest, a $1,000 Farmers Market Inspiration Award, sponsored by the Farmers Market Coalition, will be presented to a farmer showing the greatest dedication to his or her local market.
