New Underground Storage Tank Installed at Frederick Road Gas Station

Installation of the new storage tank is expected to continue a few more weeks.

If you've had to get gas elsewhere in the last month because the gas station has been closed for gas, you'll only have to wait roughly another week for it to re-open.

The gas station pumps are closed because contractors are installing a new underground storage tank. A spokeswoman for Shell said the tank is being upgraded to double-wall piping, lining and new tank top. The upgrades occur every 20-25 years, she said.

Mike Yang, who has leased the property from Shell for the past five years, said the store's business has dropped because of the renovations because the pumps are closed.
