Frugal Family: Start Your Holiday Shopping Early with These Deals

If you haven't started your holiday shopping, you're already behind. Get on in here and save at Hasbro Toy Shop, Staples, Disney, and more.

Welcome back, my fair frugal friends. Our adventure this week includes kick-butt deals for the entire family.

Remember, not just any sale makes it into Frugal Family. Only the best of the best can catch my eye, and believe me, thousands of deals audition each week.  However, the few that make this list have undergone the scrutiny of a watchful and somewhat skeptical eye.

My promise to you is this: They will save you a substantial amount of dough.  They will add to your quality of life, even if only a sliver. And last but certainly not least, they will bring you utter and complete happiness and bliss.

Hasbro Toy Shop:  Hasbro is doing their Friends and Family event, and just in time to stock up on gifts for the holidays.  Use code FSFAM11 and get 25 percent off almost everything (some minor restrictions apply) and free shipping.  I’m a big fan of Strawberry Shortcake…just saying.

Staples:  Don’t miss out on your holiday memories because your kid decided to hide the camera in the toilet.  Save 20 percent off any camera regularly priced $149 or more at Staples (in store only)

Looking to upgrade your laptop computer?  Right now, Staples will give you a $100 Visa gift card if you trade in your old laptop and purchase one regularly priced at $549 or above.  And you can this coupon on Dell laptops or look for one on sale.  This is an in-store only deal.

Other coupons to use in store:

$50 off Lenovo desktop
$10 off $50 HP ink
50% off Pentel mechanical pencils
50% off Kodak photo paper

Symphony of Lights: $5 for one admission to the December 8 Blinkin Binkies walk through the Symphony of Lights holiday display at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia.  You can buy up to four tickets, and children under 4 are free.

Personalized Disney Books:  Let’s face it.  Our kids love to see their names in print.  It’s why I totally get suckered into those racks in Hallmark with the personalized key chains.  Thankfully I’m too thrifty to get pulled in every time.  Today, at Plum District, you can add two personalized Disney Princess or Cars books to Santa’s bag for $22.

HauteLook.com:  I’m going to be doing most of my Christmas shopping online.  It’s just easier that way, and it’s getting way to easy to find amazing deals.  HauteLook has a little bit of everything, from the latest women’s fashions to kid stuff, at hugely reduced prices.  And today you can give it a try for half the price.  Get a $50 GC and only pay $25.

Bath & Body Works:  Today only, Save 20 percent off your entire purchase and $1 shipping on any order over $25.  Use code Twenty25 at checkout to take advantage of this deal.

MyPublisher:  Like I said before, these deals will be a dime a dozen right up to Christmas, but it’s totally worth the savings.  Get a 20 page hardcover photo book for just $10 from My Publisher.  I think I’ll be getting one of these to capture the best pictures from our last photo shoot.

El Nayar Mystery Booth Wednesday: If you’re heading out tomorrow night for dinner, check out El Nayar (at the corner of Mellor and Frederick).  Every Wednesday, they choose a mystery booth.  If you happen to sit in it, you’re entire meal will be 50% off.  Since their prices are already reasonable and their food delicious, it’s worth the gamble.

Also on Tuesday nights, they have Kid’s Night.  Get one free kid’s meal (a $3.99 value) with each entré purchased.

Chick-fil-a: Just wanted to remind you guys that it’s Tuesday and that means it’s Kid’s Night at our local CFA.  For every adult meal you purchase, you get a free 4 ct kid’s meal absolutely Free. So take a break from school shopping, head on over, and make the cows happy.  Who knows?  Maybe we’ll see you there.

That’s it for this week.  Of course I’ll be back next week with another edition of Frugal Family.  As always, if you’ve heard of any local deals that would pass the FF test, pass them on.
