Catonsville Will Be All About Food Starting Monday

Get ready for a week of great dining and good deals.

Catonsville residents may want to save their appetites and clear their schedules starting Monday because Taste of Catonsville and Restaurant Week collide.

On Monday, for just $35 in advance ($45 at the door), you can sample dishes from 20 restaurants at .  This year, two new restaurants are participating for the first time, Peace A Pizza and Grilled Cheese & Co. Ledo's Pizza is also participating for the first time.

The event is sponsored by the . Mixxi Jones-Fair, the committee chairwoman for the event, said the evening is the perfect time to try new foods.

Some restaurants cook up their classic dishes, while others find something different to bring to the table, she said.

Either way, many of the dishes are prepared right in front of you, including grilled cheese sandwiches from Grilled Cheese & Co. and shrimp steamed on the spot from .

The event is from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the on Monday, located at 814 Hilltop Road in Catonsville.

After Monday, many of the same restaurants and others will open their doors for a week of special discounts for Restaurant Week. Coupon books are available on the Chamber of Commerce website and at participating restaurants. The discount event runs from Tuesday until Monday, April 18.
