'Life Is Great in 21228' Magnets Planned for Parade

Volunteers are needed for the Fourth of July parade and fireworks celebration in Catonsville July 4.

An attractive idea is brewing for the Catonsville Fourth of July parade.

Karen Gatzke, a Catonsville Realtor, is spearheading an effort to create "Life is Great in 21228" magnets, and to distribute them, with a new design, during the parade July 4, according to a Facebook page run by Gatzke.

Volunteers are needed to help hand them out at the parade, the page states.

The parade begins at 3 p.m. July 4, and the fireworks are later in the evening, according to the Catonsville 4th of July Committee's website. The route is posted below this article.

There are other volunteer opportunities at the parade and celebration, the committee's site states. Those include sandwich makers, helpers to cordon off areas of Catonsville High School for the fireworks, and banner carriers.

Parade route

"Parade lines up on Montrose Ave. and enters in the 1600 block of Frederick Road (near Matthews 1600 Restaurant)," according to the committee's website. "It proceeds down to the 700 block of Frederick Road and makes a right onto Bloomsbury Ave. The parade ends at the Bloomsbury Center (old Catonsville Middle School)."

Visit the committee's website for more parade information.
