Five Things You Won't Want to Miss this Weekend in Catonsville

This weekend will bring slightly cooler temperatures than last weekend, meaning it's the likely to be the perfect fall weather. There's a lot going on this weekend, which you can check out in our calendar.

Here's are five activities that are guaranteed to be a good time in Catonsville or benefit Catonsville organizations.

1. : Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m at Rice Auditorium at 55 Wade Avenue. Heritage Players, Inc. presents Aaron Sorkin’s hit drama, A Few Good Men. First produced on Broadway in 1989, this military masterpiece of courtroom theatre highlights the unique culture and code of honor within the military. Two Marines are being tried for their alleged involvement in the death of a fellow Marine at Guantanamo Bay. Local director, Katherine Sheldon, brilliantly navigates the play’s questions about what it means to have honor, integrity, humanity and patriotism in this story of a young lawyer’s decision to challenge the status quo within the military judicial system.

2.: Saturday at 3 p.m. at 1209 Charles Street in Baltimore.

The Towson University Alumni Association holds a scholarship benefit in memory of Honor Elizabeth Wainio, a 1995 graduate and Catonsville native who was killed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

3. : Sunday at 3 p.m. at , 1004 Frederick Road.

This car show boasts more than cars: pumpkin painting, balloon animals, moonbounce, 'Gerbils' the clown, puppets, music and demonstrations by the Yo-Yo Man.

4. : Sunday at 1 p.m. at 7514 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.

This Catonsville organization was started to help familes caring for critically ill children. This crab feast will include live music, a silent auction, games and a raffle.

5. : Sunday at 8:30 a.m. starting at .

Enjoy an 18-mile early-morning, two-hour guided bike ride along two of Catonsville’s trail system and the state park loop.  Learn about Catonsville Rails to Trails efforts to preserve old rail lines as bike and hike paths and the biking connections we are making to other trails.
