Chautauqua 2012: Maryland and the War of 1812 - Mary Pickersgill

Chautauqua 2012, MHC’s free living history performance series, commemorates the bicentennial of the War of 1812 at six sites around the state from July 6-13.  “Maryland and the War of 1812” will feature scholar/performers portraying one of five pivotal historical figures:  President James Madison, Rosalie Stier Calvert, Mary Pickersgill, Francis Scott Key, and Major General Robert Ross.  Each performance is enhanced by pre-show acts and post-show question and answer with audience members—both in and out of character.

Mary Pickersgill - The Baltimore flagmaker who stitched the Star Spangled Banner Flag that flew over Ft. McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore.
