Wednesday Farmers Market
new farmers market is open every Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. through October at the pavilion at the Jenkins Senior Living Campus at the corner of Benson and Caton avenues in Violetville.

Whole Foods Recalls Cheese
The supermarket chain is recalling Crave Brothers Les Frères cheese, in response to a recall by the Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese Company of Waterloo, WI, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The two Baltimore locations are among the stores pulling Crave Brothers Les Frères cheese from the shelves.

Hampden Shop Wants Outdoor Seating
A proposed candy and ice cream store in Hampden requested approval from the Baltimore Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals for outdoor seating. The board will hear the request Tuesday.

Movie, Special Menu Fridays at Little Italy
Members of the Original Little Italy Restaurant Association are offering special movie menu items from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., as part of Little Italy's Open-Air Film Festival every Friday until August 30, according to to the Baltimore Sun. Assemble an al fresco dinner with Chiapparelli's salad ($6), a mozzarella and tomato sub ($5) from Da Mimmo, a Roma sausage sub ($6) from Sabatino's and "chip and dip" ($4)—cannoli pastry chips and filling—from Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop.

Farm-to-Table Celebration's Restaurant Promotions Kicks Off
From today to July 21, downtown Baltimore restaurants will be offering special promotions, as part of the Farm-to-Table Celebration.

Dooby's Previews Coffee, Pastries, Sandwiches Saturday
Dooby's, the long-awaited Mount Vernon cafe, will open a preview version (which will open around Labor Day) in the lower-level Park Plaza space called The Hatch (4 W. Madison St., to officially open July 20), according to the Sun. The Hatch will open at 7 a.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. weekends.

Free Chipotle at AVAM Film Screenings
For free chips and salsa from Chipotle, be one of the first 50 attendees to AVAM's Flicks on the Hill, a free, outdoor film screening series that kicked off this Thursday, according to the Sun. Next Thursday's film will be Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985).

Executive chef Jesse Sandlin told Baltimore magazine that Vino Rosina, which will close on July 20, will be transforming into Oliver Speck's Eats & Drinks with a focus on "comfort food and barbecue." Fun fact: The new restaurant was named after Jesse's pet Juliana Pig, a type of mini pig.

Baltimore Free Farm Wins 'Exclusive Negotiating Privilege'
The Baltimore Free Farm has won "an exclusive negotiating privilege" for two city-owned empty lots it's already farming, according to the Baltimore Messenger. Councilman Nick Mosby, who represents that section of the neighborhood, sent a letter supporting the farm's purchase of the neighborhood.
