Fourth of July Parade: What You Need to Know

The parade steps off at 3 p.m. Monday.

The big day in Catonsville is almost here. It's time for the 65th annual Fourth of July parade.

Here's what you need to know to plan your day:

1. Road closures: You can download the parade map with a list of road closures here. Roads will start closing at 1 p.m.

2. Do's and Don'ts: A complete list of rules is available here. Committee members are asking that marchers do not bring water guns, candy or any other item to throw at the crowd. This year, residents are also asked to stay off of Montrose Avenue prior to the parade in order to give more space to those marching.

3. Other events throughout the day: If the parade is not your thing, you can check out the hot dog-eating contest at Duesenberg's, the free concert at Christian Temple, or the bike-decorating contest first thing in the morning. A complete schedule is available here.
