Flash Flood Watch In Effect Through Wednesday Afternoon

Remnants of Tropical Storm Lee could dump between 2-4 inches of rain in the region.

The National Weather Service placed Central Maryland under a flash flood watch through Wednesday afternoon, saying Tropical Depression Lee and a slow-moving cold front could produce widespread heavy showers.

The watch covers Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland.

The Baltimore/Washington office of the NWS said the results of these two weather systems means widespread rainfall in amounts of 2 to 4 inches can be expected, with higher totals in some places. With grounds already saturated and creeks and streams running higher after Hurricane Irene, flash flooding may result.
