Father's Day Weekend Fun in Baltimore County

Here are some fun things to do around town with the kids this weekend.

If you're looking for something to do with dad, the family or just yourself, there's lots going on in Baltimore city or county this weekend. Here's our list:

Where/When: Friends of Benjamin Banneker Historical Park, 300 Oella Ave, Catonsville, MD, Saturday, June 16, 11 a.m.

Why to go: Storytelling, music, and good old fashion fun will take place at the Bannekey House on the spacious grounds of Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum.

As we reach the 147th year we continue to celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

Celebrate with the Griots’ Circle of Maryland and the Friends of Benjamin Banneker Park and Museum.

Where/When:    Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Westchester Ave, Catonsville, MD, Saturday, June 16, 2012, 8 a.m.

Why to go:  Every 3rd Saturday from April 21st thru October 20th, 2012 Trinity United Methodist Church hosts a Community Flea Market.

Breakfast and Lunch is sold in our fellowship hall provided by our Trinity Chef's.

Where/When:    827 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD, 10 a.m.

Why to go:  This Saturday, the Believe In Tomorrow Children's Foundation is hosting a rummage sale, selling surplus inventory from its 8 housing facilities.

Ranging from furniture to dollhouses to holiday decor, there's quite a wide variety of items for sale. 

All proceeds directly benefit the foundation and its mission to help critically ill children and their families.

*The store is located right between the Catonsville Gourmet restaurant and the You Scream Ice Cream shop. The parking lot can be accessed via Newburg Avenue.

Pricing: FREE

Where/When:    Exhibition Hall, Maryland State Fair Grounds, Saturday, June 16, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  – Sunday June 17, 2012, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Why to go:  Take dad to check out the wide variety of guns and ammo for Father’s Day!

Gun Show presented by Appalachian Promotions Inc.  Open to the public.

Pricing: Adults $7.00, Kids under 12: FREE

FREE Parking.

Where/When:    Martin State Airport, 701 Wilson Point Road, Middle River, Maryland 21220, Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17, 10:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Why to go:  Vintage and modern aircraft will be on display, the Airport Museum will be open, and festival vendors will be on hand selling refreshments and memorabilia.

On both afternoons, see aircraft take-off and land, featuring the Blue Angels.

At the close of display, the Blue Angels will sign autographs.

Where/When:    Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine, 2400 E Fort Ave

Baltimore, Maryland 21230-5393, Wednesday, June 13 – Tuesday, June 19.

Why to go:  ‘Star-Spangled Sailabration’ is the national launch of the War of 1812 bicentennial featuring an international maritime and air festival in the Baltimore region and the Chesapeake Bay.

This week-long event will include dozens of OpSail tall ships and naval war ships, the premiere of a new symphonic work, and the Star-Spangled Air Show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
