Catonsville Weekend Activities: Running Seminar, Car Show, More

Here are five activities you should check out around town this weekend.

You know, after the week we've had—earthquake, looming hurricane, open houses, and back to school prep, I'd say we deserve a break, or at least some fun this weekend. Who's with me? 

Here are five great earthquake and, fingers crossed, hurricane-free events you won't want to miss:

1.

When/Where: Saturday, 9 a.m., 205 Bloomsbury Ave.

Why Go: Love summer cruising, hot rods and muscle cars? Then you won't want to miss this end of summer tradition filled with gorgeous classic cars, trucks and motorcycles, vendors, games, music, and prizes.

Cost: General admission is free. Vehicle entry is $15 pre-registration and $20 on the day of the event.

When/Where: Saturday, 1:00 p.m., 421 Bloomsbury Ave.

Why Go: To run or not to run? For you, there's only one answer—you run. This seminar is open to runners of all ages and ability levels looking to learn from experienced professionals about running specific nutrition, physical and mental strength training and injury prevention!

When/Where: Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., 5130 Greenwich Ave.

Why Go: You have a secret passion. One that you need to, nay! must, exercise. Unleash that passion when you audition for a part in a Catonsville Dinner Theater production. Warm those vocal chords, find your motivation and get ready to sing and dance for the world. All ages welcomed.

When/Where: Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 730 Frederick Road

Why Go: Tomorrow begins a new school year. That means for many of us, it also means it begins a new year of lunches. Now, what to put in those Monday lunches? Head on over to the farmer's market to stock up on locally grown fruits, veggies and more.
