Catonsville Updates: Trees Down, Roads Closed, Power Outages

Stay with Patch as you navigate through the day after Hurricane Irene.

While flooding has not been a major issue in Catonsville, an estimated several thousand residents are still without power in the area and roads are closed.

Here are a list of roads curently closed as of 3:00 p.m:

  • Frederick Road, west of dowtown and east of North Rolling Road. Traffic is being detoured on Dutton Avenue.
  • Maidens Choice is also closed at McTavish Avenue in Arbutus. Crews are not working as of 1 p.m.
  • Also closed is Winters Lane north of Edmondson Avenue due to down power lines.
  • There were tree branches weighing on wires on North Rolling Road north of Edmondson Avenue. At 2:30 p.m. no crews were on scene.

Many trees are down in the area and closing smaller roads, including North Beechwood Avenue.

Areas that have widespread outages include Old Catonsville, Dunmoore, Westchester, Oella, Montrose Avenue, and around Ingleside Avenue.
