Catonsville Resident Who Died in Flight 93 Remembered

Friends and family of Lizz Wainio honor her memory in creative ways.

For the family of Elizabeth Wainio, the years since Sept. 11, 2001 have been about honoring her memory.

Lizz, as she was known, was on Flight 93, which crashed into a field in Shanksville, PA. The family has been involved in the planning of a  memorial that was dedicated Saturday. The memorial is being built on the field where the plane crashed. The first phase of construction is complete.

"[The crash] changed the whole outcome of that day," said her stepmother and 29-year Catonsville resident Esther Heymann.
