Catonsville Boy Scout Troop Looking for Old Members

Troop No. 456 out of St. Mark's Church and School in Catonsville is holding an anniversary event.

On August 21, 1912, the first Eagle Scout in America was named. One hundred years later, Catonsville's Troop 456 based out of is going to celebrate that anniversary.

The troop will recognize three new Eagle Scouts at an on August 21 and also have a reunion for any past Eagle Scout members from the troop. The Catonsville troop was founded in 1945 and since 1961 has had 122 Eagle Scouts selected.

Sheila Whetle, one of the organizers, said the group has addresses for roughly 100 Eagle Scouts, but are looking to invite any past members. Also in attendance will be eight of the current or past scoutmasters.
