It's Shoe Box Time! We're filling Christmas Shoe Boxes again this year at Shelbourne Baptist Church for needy and hurting children around the world. Our Baptist Women will be packing and collecting gift-filled shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child which is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary this year.

If you would like to pack a Christmas Shoe Box for a boy or girl or both, you can bring your packed box to our Christmas Shoe Box table in our church foyer tonight, Wed, November 6th from 6:45-8:00 pm or this Sunday, November 10th from 10:00 am-12:30 pm, which is our last collection day.

Many of the children that Operation Christmas Child reaches have never received a gift before. These life-changing shoe boxes travel thousands of miles to 100 million needy and hurting children in over 100 countries around the world.

Shoe box gifts may be gift wrapped with box and lid wrapped separately for age groups 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14. Place a label on your shoebox indicating whether it's for a boy or girl and the age group. Christmas shoe box gifts may be packed with school supplies like pencils, sharpeners, crayons, markers, writing pads, coloring & picture books and solar calculators; hygiene items like toothbrushes and toothpaste, mild bar soap, comb or small brush, washcloth; and of course toys like small cars, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, small Etch A Sketch, stickers, Slinky, yo-yos and Legos; and everyday needs like t-shirts, socks, underwear, ball caps, hats, mittens, hair clips & hair bands, sunglasses, hard candy, watches and small flashlights or light-up toys with extra batteries.

You can personalize your shoe box gift even more by enclosing a note to the child with a photo of yourself or your family. If you include your address, the child may write to you. Do not include used or damaged items, war-related toys or figures like toy guns, knives or military figures, chocolate or food, liquid or lotions, medications or vitamins, breakable items or aerosol cans. For more information on packing or bringing a box, call Shelbourne Church at #410-242-3261.
