Charlestown to Defend its Award-Winning Classic Maryland Crab Soup Recipe at State Seafood Festival

Charlestown retirement community will defend its award-winning, Classic Maryland Crab Soup recipe at the Maryland Seafood Festival Crab Soup Cook-off, which will be held September 7 at Sandy Point State Park.

Charlestown’s Dining Services team will compete against more than two dozen other restaurants, hotels, and caterers. It won last year’s cook-off in a field of competitors that included Azure Annapolis, Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant, Federal House Bar & Grill, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, and Oceanaire Seafood Room.

“We are looking forward to participating in this year’s Crab Soup Cook-off” said Larry Snowberger, Director of Dining Services for Charlestown. “We enjoy doing all we can to create exceptional dining experiences for our residents.”

Charlestown’s winning recipe is a family recipe from one of the Dining Services team members. Charlestown now serves the winning crab soup at all six of its restaurants.

The annual seafood festival, which attracts more than 20,000 visitors from across the Mid-Atlantic, offers a variety of music, arts and crafts, and, of course, the best seafood Maryland has to offer.
