A Spectacular Fashion Gala At Martin’s West
Tereva King-Adams, of Catonsville, Maryland owner of Adams Fashion Design Studio, has been designing for more than 30+ years. She received her degree in Fashion Design in 1984 and since has received numerous awards and certificates, such as alumni of the year awards, and a few from various mayors in Baltimore City. She has designed for customers in Nigeria and hair products Paul Mitchell Design Team. Her work was on display at the Culture Art Center in September 2011 which included hanging wall art work that has oodles and oodles of hand painted beads from around the world, each individually placed. Her Wearable Art Skirts design are individually designed for the person who wants to be set apart from the crowd as no two skirts are alike.
Adams Fashion Design Studio presents A Fashion Show Spectacular of “Wearable Arts” On March 17, 2012 at 8p.m. – 12 midnight at Martin’s West, 6817 Dogwood Road, Baltimore, Maryland.
King-Adams has been featured in SQE (Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery) Professional industry sewing magazines, being the founder and educator of Edmonson-Westview Recreation and Parks Council (EDRECO) Fashion Design / Sewing Center. The Fashion Design Sewing Center is located at Southwest Academy Science & Engineering, Middle School in Catonsville, Maryland.
Mrs. Adams said “The program is a great after-school outlet for students and home schooled students, the program will help students broaden their creativity and education”. The program is also open to adults who are looking to fill their leisure time. Mrs. Adams teaches all ability levels.
Tereva Adams love for style and fashion started at the age 8. After watching her aunts and grandmother sew. Mrs. Adams’s parents bought her first machine, a Kenmore model. She and her husband Kelvin work together as partners to keep both of their professions and the kids’ lives running smoothly. “My husband and kids are a huge help,” she says smiling. “If they like something or dislike something they express themselves in a loving way,” says Mrs. Adams smiling. "My inspiration comes from being a wife, mother of 5, and traveling, needless to say we are always doing something fun and creative," she said.
Her daughter Kelley Adams now 12 is following her mother footsteps closely being the 5th generation of sewers. Kelley designs her own collections entitled “Dream” a pajama collection. Kelley was already designing different creations since the age of 5. Kelley is a young designer who really enjoys sewing. Kelley has been taught many designs techniques and construction from her mother.
To see both Wearable Arts and Dreams Collection the event doors open at 8p.m. Fashion Show start at 8:15 sharp, dinner and dancing after the show. Tickets are $75.00 per person. All tickets must be purchase in advanced. Cash, money order or check accepted (check accepted until February 29, 2012) payable to: Adams Fashion Design Studio. Seating is limited. Tickets are available now. All fashion will be for sale after the show.
