Plant Sale Saturday Benefits Nonprofits

Pamela Heishman’s Catonsville plant sale will benefit a women’s shelter and mental illness nonprofit.

A Catonsville garderer will donate half of her profits from a plant sale this weekend to two nonprofits. Pamela Heishman will be selling vegetables, annuals, perennials and herbs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 338 Stonewall Road in Catonsville. The donations from Saturday’s sale will go to Linda House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence in Newport, PA, and the Columbia, MD, chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Each organization will receive 25 percent of Heishman’s profits, she said via email. She will have hundreds of plants and vegetables at Saturday’s sale.

Burglar Swipes 20 Truck Batteries

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department's Wilkens precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

A burglar cut a hole in a fence to steal vehicle parts. Between 8 p.m. April 25 and 10 a.m. April 29, someone stole 20 truck batteries from the Penske Trucking Co. located in the 3200 block of Hammonds Ferry Roadd, according to a report by Baltimore County police.

Family Dollar Employee Robbed at Gunpoint

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department's Wilkens precinct. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

The Family Dollar Store in Catonsville was held up at gunpoint when a robber threatened an employee with a revolver and made away with cash. At 10:56 a.m. April 29, the robber came into the Family Dollar store at 5511 Edmondson Ave. in Catonsville, and pointed the silver revolver, according to a report by Baltimore County Police. The alleged holdup man  described as a 5-foot-10 black male with a medium build who wore camouflage pants and hat, and a blue hoodie.
