Z'Pan Café Opens in Paradise

The former owners of Zi Pani by the Wilkens Avenue Giant have found a new location.

Catonsville residents may have missed the bagels, coffee and sandwiches at Zi Pani Café in the Wilkens Beltway Plaza since it left the shopping center roughly three years ago.

For 14 years, co-owners Bill Pringle and Crystal Jones operated a bagel shop that was under various names, including Zi Pani Café. When they left that location, the shop ended up on East Drive in Arbutus.

But Pringle and Jones said they wanted a location with better parking and that was closer to Catonsville.

A few months ago, they found a new spot off of Frederick Road at the intersection of Paradise Avenue in the same shopping center with Thai Heaven.

The owners moved in and opened roughly two weeks ago, this time with the name Z'Pan Café.

"It's great because it's right up the street from where we used to be," Jones said.

The shop has bagels, coffee, panini sandwiches and also delivers to surrounding areas.

The café is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. The number is 410-744-0067. To follow the shop on Facebook, go here.

Good luck! They had terrific cream of crab soup, plus tasty bagels. Hope they do well in the new location.

So glad you've reopened. I worried when you left East Drive. Best of luck to you at the new locale!
