Woman Charged With Arson in Woodlawn Fire
Police said the 25-year-old woman also assaulted a police officer.
A 25-year-old woman was charged with arson in connection with a fire at her Woodlawn home on Saturday.
Ashley Joy Davis, of the 1600 block of Langford Road, told police that she started the fire because of an ongoing dispute, according to a statement from Cpl. John Watcher, a police spokesman.
Police and fire crews responded to the home in the 1600 block of Langford Road early Saturday morning after receiving a report of a suicidal subject, the statement reads. At the time, officers determined the incident was a "simple assault" and left the scene.
Police were called back to the home and observed a fire had started in a second-floor bedroom, Watcher said.
Fire crews contained the fire and there were no injuries.
Davis was placed in the police vehicle for protection from the fire but was arrested when she she kicked out a car window and assaulted an officer, according to the statement. She was charged with assault, arson and related charges.
Davis is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $250,000 bail.
