What's Going on in Catonsville This Weekend
Patch has a list of events around town you don't want to miss.
The quiet weekends of January are no more. This weekend, there's lots going on in Catonsville. Here's a list, pulled from the calendar on our site.
1. "Bye Bye Birdie" at Mount De Sales Academy. Tickets are $8 and shows are at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. A 2 p.m. show is scheduled for Sunday.
2. Chili Cook-off at St. John's United Church of Christ. Bring your best recipe for the third annual event, which is Sunday night at 5 p.m. The registration fee for the contest is $5.
3. Arts Exhibition at UMBC. UMBC's Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture presents the MFA Imaging and Digital Arts Thesis Exhibition, which features work from UMBC graduates. Admission to the exhibit is free.
4. Lecture on meditation at Catonsville Library. Hear from Gen Kelsang Chogden: an American Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher at the Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland. The event is at 11 a.m. and is free.

Don't forget to get your Catonsville 4th of July Dance tickets this weekend. This event sells out fast, so get your dance on-line or at Opie's, 1600 Edmondson Ave on Saturday from 12-3 p.m.

There's a pancake breakfast and Scholastic book fair at Emmanuel Lutheran, 929 Ingleside (behind Sam's Club) on Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. Come one, come all - pancakes, sausage, and books!
