The rain isn't going away any time soon, but the skies should clear up when it matters, if you're interested in seeing the weekend's big sky show.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to continue through Friday night. Temperatures should hover in the mid-80s during the day and drop to about 70 degrees at night.

Saturday there’s a 30 percent chance of rain, according to NWS and skies should remain cloudy most of the day. Temperatures will again reach the mid-80s, dropping to the low 60s at night. 

We should see the return of the sun on Sunday, which, if the forecast is accurate, will be a beautiful day. NWS says skies will be mostly clear and temperatures will hit the low-to-mid 80s during the day, dropping to the mid-60s at night.  

Clear skies come just in time to watch the 2012 Perseid meteor shower, expected to pepper the sky with "shooting stars" late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
