If your child wants to be in a rock band but doesn't know enough people who are musically inclined, you may want to sign him or her up for a new band camp in Catonsville.

(Or if you just want them to get a little more instruction and would prefer them not to practice in the garage.)

Bill's Music is starting a rock band camp for children ages 11 to 18 years old at the store. For a week in August, students will receive instruction in the morning with music instructor Ryan Raines. In the afternoons they will rehearse as a band. A concert is planned for the end of the week.

The staff at Bill's said that instructor Raines has done this type of camp before and it works well for teens who want to play in a band but don't have anyone to play with.

The camp runs from August 6-10 and is $109. To sign up call the store at 410-747-1900.
