The Baltimore Ravens head to training camp this week, with some players starting Tuesday and the first full practice on Thursday.
Quarterbacks, rookies and players coming off of injuries hit the field Tuesday at the team’s Owings Mills facilities.
While most of the roster is in place, questions remain about the upcoming season. A rookie from Texas, Justin Tucker, will compete with Billy Cundiff for the kicker spot in training camp and the pre-season, according to Comcast Sportsnet Washington’s Ravens Insider. The fate of safety Ed Reed is still up in the air, but it is likely he will be at camp on the first day, according to an article on the team’s site.
The Ravens released 24-year-old guard Howard Barbieri on Monday, according to The Baltimore Sun. Barbieri was with the Houston Texans last year, but has yet to play an NFL game. The Ravens will be trying out offensive guard Eric Steinbach Tuesday, according to The Carroll County Times. He was with the Cleveland Browns last year, but was on injured reserve because of a back injury.
The Ravens will host a public training camp practice at Stevenson University’s Mustang Stadium in Owings Mills on Sunday, August 19. Two other public practices will be held at M&T Bank Stadium and Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
