Police Make Arrest in Aug. 19 Shooting

A Catonsville resident was shot and killed outside the Ramada Limited on Baltimore National Pike.

Baltimore County Police have charged a 19-year-old with first-degree murder after an Aug. 19 shooting at the Ramada Limited in Catonsville left one dead.

Savion Devante Moore, 19, of no fixed address, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Kelvin Glasgow of Winters Lane, according to a press release.

At 1:33 a.m. on Aug. 19, police responded to the parking lot of the hotel on Baltimore National Pike for reports of a fight with guns.

Police said that a hotel employee had asked people to leave after a party inside became loud and unruly. When people left, several fights broke out in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, they said they found Glasgow lying in the parking lot with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene and police ruled his death a homicide.

Police said they were able to identify Moore from surveillance cameras at the hotel that showed him allegedly carrying a gun and firing it.

A mug shot of Moore is attached.

Joe, it is Kelvin. The article has been updated. Thanks!

Looking at this slimes record, he should have been in jail and Kelvin would be alive today.
18 counts against him and only 1 guilty among them, all the rest nol pross from just 6-11-2012. He SHOULD have been jailed not probation.

I couldn't agree more Joe! Unreal obviously he has no respect for the law, other people or their property! He should have been sitting in BDC instead of out on probation!

If the Catonsville Patch had done the most rudimentary search on Mr. Moore they would have found that he was recently profiled for a burglary in Baltimore Highlands in the Arbutus Patch. He had no fixed address then too. Couch surfer?

Im so happy that justice is going to be served on this coward, and my best friends boyfriend/ babies father is laid peacefully to rest. Its just a shame that this baby must grow up without knowing his father.

Oh Penney, before you leave as Editor, Maggie (above) said one of those bad words that the Patch policy prohibits. You might want to remove it. Heck, take out the whole statement...it is so full of bad grammar it's barley legible.

I had a hard time trying determining what the editor of Catonsville Patch found as rude, profane language ,because rather innocuous posts were deleted by her here and there . I was going to try some test posts, but now she is leaving. I'll try anyway. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

I will hope and pray Kelvin's children and mother get a good father figure in their lives and grow to be productive members of society. Take an active role in your childrenss lives, schools etc. If you don't the odds of his children are too great to end up like him. That cycle MUST STOP!

Gina! I'm so glad they got him! Finally Kelvin's family, Leanne, their baby boy Little Kelvin, & friends can all get their justice! Although Moore should have never been on the streets in the first place:/

Don't hold your hopes on justice being served girls. He's not in trial yet, nor has he been convicted yet. He has managed to skirt the law and the justice system so far, even though he is a bad dude. Joe, don't hold out a lot of hope on Kelvin's baby and "baby mamma" finding a man to step into their life to rescue them. Kelvin didn't step up to his responsibilities, so why would some fool step in to be his surrogate. Girls, as long as you follow the culture of thinking that "baby mamma" is equal to a "wife" you will be part of the same problems that got Kelvin shot. Why was he not home that evening taking care of his kid? Don't use his victimization to legitimize all this dysfunction that obviously encompassed his life.
