Four Baltimore Orioles players teamed up to give a group of critically ill children a home run of a day.

Rosedale's Extra Innings baseball facility donated space on Wednesday to allow The Casey Cares Foundation—a non-profit servicing seriously sick children and their families—to host an event where the players taught kids to play baseball.

Orioles infielder Ryan Flaherty, pitcher (and Kingsville native) Steve Johnson, pitcher Brian Matusz and utility player Steve Tolleson participated in the event.

"I'm not sure who has the bigger smiles—the kids or their parents," said Casey Baynes, founder and executive director for the foundation. "The Orioles have been really great."

Havre de Grace resident Wendy Little attended the event with her 11-year-old son Gabriel Little, who is diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Additionally, Gabriel suffers from seizures and is unable to speak.

"He's really having fun," Wendy said.
