it happened right in my back yard while my 6 year old son watched the man bleed out all over the grass where he plays. this area is disgusting. i hate it and the rental agency doent care. there is always something horrible going on in "baltimore kill lands". every year it seems around halloween someone around here gets killed. a few years ago it was children who where trick or treating. i just do not understand. we are all just people trying to make our bills and raise our kids. one mintue everyone is sleeping, the next my son is at my bedroom door telling me there is a man laying on the ground bleeding. it makes me sad and ashamed to live here. i feel like i am waiting for a stray bullet to come in the window and kill one of these children. its a horrilbe way to live, and it is scary. i pray that my son doesnt think this is a normal event. i just do not understand. oh, i just looked out the same window and the police are here agian because someone hit someone else in a car accident and left the scene. what a rat hole.

I'm really sorry to hear that Angela.
Please keep fighting the good fight, continue to raise your son to grow up the way you feel he should be. Only together, over time, can parents like us slowly break through the social ills that destroy OUR society from the inside out.
Stories like this depress me. I'm not a religious man, but for what it's worth, my thoughts and prayers are with you, and others like you.
We're raising the future together, let's make it less f**ked up then the present.

Fascinating, both angela and Deondre found the Patch and made their first post ever on the same day. What a sad coincidence they both had a horrible experience.

One must wonder why a six year old is awake at almost midnight to see that when 'everyone else is sleeping'.

Tim, was it really necessary to use the F word in your reply? That is almost as disgusting as the comment by Deondre which has been subsequently removed. What a disrespectful way for him to have referred to his dead father.

I believe he is allowed to use the words that describe his opinion...if you dont like the word, you are free not to use it. Your fragile tolerances for language arent his problem

People, when you lose a parent in such a way or any way for that matter, you say the word F*%$ or any other word that comes to mind. Jesus people, get a grip. Free speech. AND you're telling someone whose father was just murdered to watch his language?!?!? Ugh. No wonder I like animals so much better than most people.

Angela, I'm very sorry that you have to suffer such low-life events in your neighborhood. As a parent of 2, I have had to make serious changes to protect my family. The main change being, the move to a better neighborhood. Yes, it's costing me, and yes, NO neighborhood is 100% safe, but it's less likely that this type of crime, as you describe, will happen in my own backyard. If you continue to expose your child to the environment you're living in, you will have a very desensitized young adult on your hands. We've all heard the song lyrics, about growing up hard in the hood. Let's all do our part as parents to nip it in the bud. It's the ONLY thing we have the power to do.

Sorry Mike, it appears you fell for the old first and last post trick of angela small. Her first and only post on the Arbutus Patch it appears, awkward timing at best.

It is bizarre someone witnesses what she says she did and then runs to the Patch to make her first ever post.

FIFA, I don't find Angela's action bizarre at all as it was an unusual occurrence. Now, if murders were committed in her backyard every day and she posted each of them continually, then I would consider that bizarre.

It is a shame i lived there with my kids for 10 years , only had one issue that whole time . That was when a neighbor lost his girlfriend and was threatening suicide .
