Local High Schools to Visit UMBC Exhibition Thursday
Mount Hebron High students were coming to the "For All the World to See: Visual Culture and the Struggle for Civil Rights."
Students from at least one Baltimore-area school were scheduled to come to UMBC on Thursday to view the exhibition titled "For All the World to See: Visual Culture and the Struggle for Civil Rights."
UMBC has set up trips for local high school students to come and see the exhibition and then go to a class about visual culture and social justice with a professor from the college.
After that, the students create their own social justice-inspired artwork once they get back to their school. That is then going to be displayed on the UMBC campus.
There's going to be an openening featuring the students' work on April 12.
UMBC has also partnered with a North Carolina high school, who will visit the exhibition online and do a similar artistic project. There will be an exhibition of their work at North Carolina A&T
