Guess the Number of Jelly Beans

How many jelly beans are in this water bottle?

 

In the spirit of Easter, we thought we'd put some jelly beans to good use. So a team of Patch editors loaded some of the sweet, egg-shaped candies into an AOL water bottle.

Can you guess how many are inside? Tell us in the comments below.

The winner gets bragging rights in Catonsville and can choose up to two items from the Patch swag store, which includes tote bags, water bottles, T-shirts, magnets and pens.

We'll announce the winner on Friday!

Wow, Tracey, you took my answer. Before I even looked at what others guessed, I came up with 288. I figured 24 layers of 12 each. I wonder if you used the same logic.

Thanks Kristina, the correct answer is 288! It's impressive that the first guess was the correct one, although Mark Lundin pointed out, there was a logical way to come up with a guess. Strategy for counting jelly beans?? I just looked at the pretty colors and said the first number that came to mind. lol Maybe its a psychic thing :)
