Actually, some believe that the Promenade will increase crime in our area. Why is this? All of the property taxes that this development would pay will go to repay the TIF Bonds used to finance the project. The county will not see a penny in property taxes in 30 years. This large development, 250 residences, 2 hotels, 460,000 of retail, 250,000 sq. ft of office space all totaling 1.4 Million sq. ft. Rest assured that this will consume police resources without contributing to the kitty that pays for the services. In addition, many feel that this project will actually attract criminals to our area.
